Donna Tripodi

Donna Tripodi is an artist working with yarn over painting, a practice shaped by her love of 60s interiors and the quiet beauty of objects like rocket lamps.

Still early in her artistic journey, Donna had her first exhibition late last year and has been building her practice around the edges of everyday life, between work, motherhood, and the constant pull to make something.

What drew us to Donna was exactly that. The hunger to create, the specificity of her vision, and the way she wrote about needing space and time the way most people need air.

She is working toward larger scale pieces and exploring commissioned yarn light works for interiors.

Grace Tan

Grace Tan is a Sydney-based filmmaker and screenwriter developing Swallowtail, a feature film about grief, family secrets, and belonging.

An award-winning director and screenwriter, Grace holds a Masters of Screen Arts in Directing from the Australian Film Television and Radio School. Her work includes co-writing the comedy noir series Appetite for SBS Digital Originals, which premiered at Canneseries in 2023 and went on to receive nominations at the Australian Academy Awards and the Australian Writer's Guild. Her short film Lucky Peach had its world premiere at the Melbourne International Film Festival and received an Australian Directors' Guild nomination, while her short Spiders On My Lashline premiered at the BFI Flare London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival.

The seed of Swallowtail was planted in the Northern Rivers, where Grace spent time last year moving through personal loss. She left the city drawn to landscape and stillness, and the story began to take shape around her. The region's traces of floods and fire, its resilience, and the communities of young women building alternative ideas of family all found their way into the work.

The screenplay is at first draft stage and Grace is returning to go deeper into it. Her process is unhurried, mornings writing, afternoons walking, photographing, and observing. The Sunseeker felt like the natural place to continue.

We were moved by the clarity of Grace's vision and the way her life and work are so completely intertwined. We want this film to exist in the world.
